Mag Fed Grizzly barrel question

I've done it with mine... I never fired it though!

They all seemed to fit and match up though. Here are a couple pic's from a thread I had on the same subject awhile ago...

How hard is it to find a barrel who's paint matches up with the factory paint on the grizz, along with the right placement of the front loop thing for mounting?

That Grizzly looks hilarious with a long barrel.

Agreed, and I want to get one for hunting waterfowls to see how the fudds will react if I show up to the blind with one of these!;)

Very nice shotty Infantry-Soldier, no pun intend:redface: and to be honest I am still considerating taking my 1201FP to hunt ducks over decoy except I never have time to make a plug to limit mag to two rds for hunting.

Fenix: It should be interchangeable. Just make sure you don't fire any 3.5"s through it without the super mag receiver!!!!

Thanks Spcamno. Looks a little different now:

I made a plug for mine out of a scrap piece of hard wood flooring. Cut it down to fit inside the spring. If you want I can find it and give you the measurements. I use my grizz for grouse sometimes just to change it up.

I'm pretty sure they are. Seeing as the 3" Grizz bbl fits on my 870 super mag, and vise versa. I was told before they are interchangeable. You just have to make sure not to fire 3.5" shells on a non supermag receiver. It even says on my 870 3.5" barrel: 2 3/4" and 3". 3.5" only with Supermag Receiver.

So I would take that to mean you can use that on any 870 receiver.

Wow,I like this better and it is more " business" like!

Is that an Eotech holosight have you mounted?

How would you like it?

I bought a DA Cougar on EE last week and should be here anytime now and looking to dress it up as well.

Thanks for your offer on the measurement on the plug I still have an extra plug from my previous 11-87 but the mag tube on the Beretta seems much longer and I really need to spend some time measure it and make one out of a dowel or aluminum bar stock or something.

And I don't believe the 3.5" barrel with work on the grizzly receiver either due to the ejection port will be bigger and the supermag receiver could be slightly longer.

Oh, I thought you wanted a block for a box magazine, not a tube, lol. My bad.

I love the EO Tech. Not my ideal choice, but it's what I have, so I use it. It works well though.

The smaller ejection port on the grizzly wouldn't matter as it only needs to eject 2 3/4 shells.

True, 2 3/4 is all you need at the range or any two legged creature if one decided to enter your home without being invited (LOL)!

Yeah, I need to make a special plug for my tube mag here:

My beloved Beretta 1201FP close cousin of Benelli M1 S90 (they share the same guts inside with a Beretta label and slip thru the radar check without being classified as prohibitied):D

Thanks!

I have always blame myself not pick one up back in the early 90s when they still make them because my brother in-law bought one 1201F (field / hunting model) new for less than a $100 more than my 11-87 back then.

After seeing the inertia operate I fell in love immediately the Beretta is so light cycle so fast and he barely cleans it (may be once end of the hunting season) but I have to clean my 11-87 almost after every hunt just to make sure it cycles fine (inertia vs gas operate inertia wins hands down).

The only draw back for the Beretta is it kicks like a mule deer but I don't mind (I hunt with a 375 h&h and 300 WM and I love big bore:D).

I found this Beretta up from EE for a fair price about two years ago and was luck enough to find a slightly used Benelli M1 pistol grip stock for just under $200 (was told most parts interchangeable between the two).

Also, the Beretta and some early model M1 is capable to ghost another round under the bolt and since this gun has 3" chamber it will hold 6+1+1 2 3/4" all together;)

There are quite a bit of information on this gun here:
