I just was looking around and seeing what extra mags would cost me for the Savage I ordered... $120 US in the States IF you can find them!

How much would those bastards be worth up here? :(

$110.00, not too bad. If you want to be really shocked, check the price of a Sako TRG mag.

That right 3 mags and one bipod for my TRG-42 338 LM, set me up nearly a 1000.00 and the rifle is sitting in the back of the safe... JP.

If I could find 10 round mags for my .308 Steven/Savage here in Canada for $130 a piece, I'd order 3 without batting an eye. Any vendors here have them?

I have yet to see the advantage of large mags on a bolt action rifle. Barrels get hot enough after 5 rounds, unless you don`t care and are replacing the tube regularly.

For hunters with skinny barrels, no real advantage.......for those shooting competitively with heavy barrels there are advantages when there are matches that require more then 5 rounds...........especially those that shoot Tactical rifle matches .........

:D

If you really want a shock, check out the price of a DSR-1 mag......last time I looked they were in the $500.00 range.........

The last 10 round AI mag I bought was $95.00...........

It would be nice to know for certain that a normal .308 AI mag would work without having to pay the huge prices for the actual savage mags.

Agreed. It is a $14,000 rifle though, so it is somewhat in keeping with the scale of the price. :p

My father paid well over $300 for a spare DT SRS .338LM mag last year. Ouch.

expensive mags make baby jesus cry
