Can you confirm that these Bumper Pads are legal in IPSC Production with a Shadow 2?

Someone ( RO ) told me that I will eventually be moved in Open cause it facilitate faster reload. He said it will be tolerate in a Level 2 match ,it but like in a 3 level match it won't be accepted.

When I read the rules, Annexe D4 17.1 and 16.2, say that aftermarket mag are allowed ( 17.1), and Bumper Pads are permitted as long they do not add or remove negligible weight to the mag (16.2). Which is the case, and I don't see why it make the reload faster..., the rules talk about Magwells for a faster reloading that is prohibited...

So should i remove them??

Thanks,

Greg.

You and the rule book have answered your question :)

Your good, like the rule says unless they add significant weight they are fine, mecgar +2 , rubber ones, alum ones, you will see them all in production. Plus you are allowed to use aftermarket mags so if you bought mags with the baseplates you wouldnt take them off. Also correct me if Im wrong but doesnt the shadow 2 come with them? Ive seen dealers advertizing them and they show the mecgar +2 on them.

No the shadow 2 does not come with them, not in Canada, but I've read that some guys did get them, in USA maybe. The +2 make confusion in Canada so that's why it took time to have them here.

So I bought them separately.

If that is the extent of his knowledge I'd ask for a different RO to run me in the future.

+2 are totally fine, you can do anything you want to mags now, so long as it doesn't add significant weight. the +2 are actually how the guns come, from the factory, and is in fact how the gun was originally approved for IPSC when the Shadow 2 was announced. Tell your RO to go back to school

You can ask that RO to quote a rule which allows him to treat equipment requirements differently between L2 and L3 matches. Or tell him to re-take his RO course and read the rule book, because there is no such thing in IPSC. Stages and equipment are all the same for all level matches, except some minor non-free style allowances for L1, L2 matches.

Thanks.

I will know how to handle the situation next time.

I just want did not want to argue the point during a match, as I do not know the rules as the official and don't have their experience, that's why I ask for clarification.

All RO I have met are always ready to give good advices and give help to progress, I have and will always have a lot of respect for them.

Just to make things clear :)
