I recently bought a G17C and was checking the mags tonight and the two 10 round ones looked like they had little to no wear. On the one I could hardly force the last two rounds into it. Is there something wrong with this mag or does it need to be 'broken in'? Thanks.

I have that issue once in awhile with my ruger mags, the 9th round is a tight fit...unload em and reload em...sometimes they just don't sit right, also make sure they are all the way back against the rear wall of the mag..

Just broken in, The Glock mags are notoriously stiff when new. Even stiff they will work fine but do tend to wear down the thumbs. Load the mags to capacity and leave them for a week or two. This wont hurt them but will allow the mag springs to "loosen" up a bit and take a set. After some use they will be a lot easier to load.

Thanks for the replys. I have read that mags can be left loaded for years with no problems so once I am sure they are OK, they will stay that way.

I remember shooting my black badge course with fresh G17 mags - my fingers hurt like bloody hell from loading those mags without the mag loader... :-(

mag loader for new glock mags = priceless

The loader simply allows you to use your whole hand to push the follower down enough to start the round into the mag, after its started you raise the loader and push the round all the way back. Repeat until full. They're nice additions when starting fresh mags but once they've been broken in I find no difficulty in reloading them. I have a couple loaders if anyone is interested. PM me for details.
