Mag tube spring in a detachable mag fed gun

Hi, I was wondering why there is a magazine tube spring in a detachable magazine Dominion Arms Grizzly ?

I can't see what the function is.

I have no idea either, don't own one, but is it a spring assist for the pump, kinda like the SAP 6? ...Somehow? Lol

Fabarm likes pump return springs, they're typically visible on the outside tho (internal wouldn't be as mechanically practical)

It holds the plastic mag tube nut retainer that’s inside the tube against the underside of the mag tube nut, which locks the mag tube nut down keeping the barrel on the gun. There’s not a ball detent on the barrel ring, like a newer 870.

Not a spring assist, just a reg spring and mag tube nut retainer like any other newer 870.

Thanks, makes sense, I guess that is what gives it the ratchet sound when putting the cap back on.

If you wanted to get rid of it a wave washer would keep the mag tube nut locked down but there’s no gain to deleting the mag spring and retainer, they weigh nothing.
