Hi all,

I recently bought a second-hand Remington 700 DBM from VBull and was wondering about some holes that are in the magazine catch. There's is a horizontal through-hole that I believe can be used to "lock" the magazine when e.g. hunting, and there's a vertical blind hole that I'm guessing is used for an extended catch release, so you can release the magazine with a thumb from outside the trigger guard.

Is this is the correct use for those holes and does anyone have a picture that shows what the pins/extension look like (I didn't receive any). Lastly, is VBull still around and does anyone have contact information for them?

Thanks!

Give Rick a shout @ Alberta Tactical Rifle (ATRS), he is familiar with Ed's DBM and should be able to give everything you need? or are looking for? Good Luck.

If I remember correctly, which I am sure I am, there was a nureled pin that went in both holes. One for locking the mag in the mag well, when moved to the bottom hole it became an extended mag release

Excellent -- thanks for that detail about a single pin being used for both. And thanks for the other poster's update on VBull (RIP Ed) and the tip about ATRS. I'd like to eventually get a pin made that duplicate the original.
