Magazine Interlock

Yes. It is exactly the same as a M&P 9, slides and mags are inter-changeable.

The M&P45 has a different frame and slide, it has no magazine inter-lock, they are not inter-changeable with the 9 & 40.

*EDIT* I just re-read your post, I didn't know the M&P was available with a thumb safety....... Is this new?
 
I just ordered a MP40 and he told me they all have thumb safetys on them, i think this is new for 2009, but im not sure if the gun still acts like the models without the thumb safety, i know the models without the safety, if the clip is removed and there is still a round in the chamber the gun will not fire, so im wondering if the one i ordered will still do that, and i cant seem to find out in writing anywhere
 
I did some searching on line, S&W offers new in '09 a thumbsaftey as an additional option. All of the "other" safteys are still there.

S&W does make them w/o the mag saftey, you just have to order the correct model # to get it.

In short, if the model you are getting has a thumb saftey, it has an internal saftey & mag interlock as well.

PS, I am curious as to why S&W decided a thumbsafety was a neccissary option to add to production? it seems very pointless to me......

The only full size M&P40 with a manual thumb safety that is listed in the S&W catalog is SKU#206300, which does not have an internal lock and which does not have a magazine disconnect safety.

Your link is broken...... You may be right, but this is info on the M&P 40 and it has no listing of your model #...... so maybe the S&W website is out of date, as I know they are offering a thumb saftey model.....
