Magazine pinning

Does anyone have any photos of how the 5.56 and 7.62 PMAGs and drums are being pinned? As in, are these being pinned on the side or on the spine, how does the countersink look, etc?

I was thinking about placing an order with IRUNGUNS for some magazines, but I've never ordered anything from them before, and can't see the mags in person.

So I was mostly trying to find out in a tactful way wether they're nicely done, or if they're terrible at using tools and mangle the hell out of the mag body or not. Also, I'm not a real big fan of side pinning, just personal preference.

I'm sure they're fantastic people and do a great job, I just prefer to know exactly what I'm buying before I buy. It's not meant to be an accusation or insinuation. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You cannot import or have in your possession a non pinned mag that law say it need to be limited.
No canadian - individual - can do it unless it is done outside Canada. So the poster admit breaking the law by having unpinned mag in his possession.
Repairing a broken rivet on a mag, so it stay pinned is not illegal..for him to say what he was doing..

My understanding, is that dealers like Irunguns get it done in the US before getting the mags imported...

I don't see where the OP said he had imported, or otherwise had any unpinned mags in his possession, or intended to have.

This 308 mag came from IRG. I haven't filed it and I'm very happy with it.

After testing the mag in the photo it isn't 5.5 rounds. It is just enough play tho to lock in with a closed bolt, cutting it close in my stag 10.

IMI does a great job pinning their mags. No rivets, they push a whole steel bar through both ends of the mag stopping just short of pushing through other end. Nice and clean job, gives impression as there was no pins at all, also painted over so you barely can see where the bar is. Perfect castration job I think. With their full capacity of 5rds they sure look unaltered and natural 30 rounders to give us freedom to imagine as if these were 30rd mags. Good looks is all that matters (unlike those crushed/indented and utterly destroyed steel/aluminum mags that cause malfunctions in most firearms)

My God..where do these do gooder keyboard lawyers come from? Oh this is illegal or this is legal blah blah blah, guy asked a simple question for fks sake ,let it go know it alls..wow.

Four pages and only one photo?

Ask and ye shall receive.

I generally use ASC or MFT 10 round mags. My Pmags just sit in a box most of the time. All 4 of these came from IRG, but years ago, no idea if it's the same guy.

The 40s are 3ish years old, side pinned, not countersunk, ground flat. I tested a few of these when I got them, and they drop free no problem.

The 30s are 5-6 years old, spine pinned, not counter sunk, not ground flat. I just opened these 2 for the photo, and my AR is not handy so I cannot check the drop.

Well you mean except for the illegal export thing, yeah sure

Shawn

It's not illegal to export a magazine from the US as long as the proper export form is filled out. And besided, anything illegal being done in the US has no legal implications here in Canada. Once it enters Canadian borders, as long as it's a magazine that's permanently pinned to 5 rounds, there's nothing that could get anyone in trouble on our side of the border.

I read online that the quality, fitting, feeding, extracting, bolt breaking, and other issues with the Norinco M305(M14) are all current problematic issues and that the quality and accuracy of the above rifle is no longer like the same version that was produced back in 2007.

If that really is true and I still want to grab a M305, what type of test would I need to put the rifle through to see if there are in fact issues with the unit I have?

How many rounds would I need to shoot with the rifle to come to a conclusion that the unit I have is sound and reliable? Would I need to conduct rapid fire(5 rd burst) to force an issue? Or to shoot off a 100 rounds while benched to see if the rounds are all landing within a general area, 4-6 inch group? How many rounds do I need to put through the rifle in order to determine if there are in fact issues with feeding, extracting, bolt issues?

I would appreciate it greatly if you can provide some shooting wisdom for I have little to none on these issues.
I had a M305 socom 18.5 barrel , up to now no problem. Put 7.62 x 51 into the gun but not 308 win , they are not the same !. No issue up to present.

I don't have any pics to share, but I ordered a whole bunch of 308 PMAGs from them in the summer. They were pinned on the spine and nicely done. No problems with them dropping free or inserting them on a closed bolt.

There are tons of unpinned magazines that pre-date the change. Pinning them is not going to get you into trouble. He also never said he ever had any mags that were not pinned. Maybe he swapped the crappy rivet out for his undeniably permanent system..?

I see now after posting that apparently he was making a joke..? I usually try to be funny when joking.
