I picked up a 308 mossberg mvp patrol to use up AR10 mags and I loved the rifle until I got to the range. I am sure the magazines were in properly with a good positive click but 1 shot is say 5 or 6 would blow the magazine clean out of the gun onto the table (or ground I'd imagine). Am I missing something? Any tips to fix this or did I buy a wondergun?

It's a bolt gun so will still be locked up in battery until you open it. Shouldn't be gas pressure. Wonder if they're trying for a last-round mag drop that holds it less firmly after you feed the last round?

It drops with 4 rds or sometimes any number. Can't say its dropped on the last rd yet. All the mags are pinned to 5. It just fires off...gas pressure? Its weird.

What mags are you using? I’ve read that some mags fit loose in the mag well and the recoil of the gun makes them pop out
The one I have works ok but the factory mag that came with it would not feed properly so I use a p mag and it works good
M 305 mags work good in mne too

I have the newest version with the "mossberg" mag omitted and oversized bolt knob, mine came with a CPD 5/10 from factory and I have tried an ASC mag both are very tight fitting. Ive heard of the first 2 generations having mag fitting problems, all versions seem to fit and feed norinco m305 mags best. All of my different brand m14 mags seem to fit/feed perfect, nice having a low profile norinco 5 rounder when carrying. Better using the m14 mags with front and rear latch points, could even put a side cut out on them and have all three latch points working in your patrol magwell.

Bought one as soon as it was available, bolt operation was super loose, to the point I could induce a jam on demand if I tried. I had the mag fall out multiple times just handling the rifle at home. The stock was painted wood and just appeared like the rifle was rushed to production.

I sold it without firing a round with full disclosure about what my impressions were above.

Have you tried it with any of the E-lander 10 round AIA mags? What is your overall impression of the rifle? I was looking at these because of the ability to share mags with my M305 ( and now to be able to use my M305 mags).

When I took it out of the box I loved it. Reminds me of an Enfield sporter for some reason. Anyway the love fell away when again like above basically every other magazine blew off when firing a round. Accuracy for the first 5 rounds was great then it essentially wasn't shooting better than a bad mosin. I will have to give it another chance after the deer hunt. I have other mossbergs and they have run great maybe this one is a lemon.

I am using slander 5/10rd mags and the original that cane with the gun. All the mags after a few rounds will drop out after firing avg 1-2 mags of 3 when firing all 5 rounds. Gun otherwiseffeels tight, action fairly smooth slightly loose and basically the gun looks fine. I am not sure what version I have but the bolt knob is large and somewhat rubbery feeling. The stock is I believe some form of composite plastic. Overall a nice looking gun the iron sights are hard to use with the scope rail attached, I recommend using 1 or the other.
