Does anyone know of a pouch for carrying a 10 round magazine for the No. 4 Lee Enfield. I am looking via google and not finding. Was hoping to find something in Black Cordura - a button snap or "hook and loop" (Velcro) closure would be fine. Even a bit larger than needed for the magazine, so that a folded up mountain sling could be stowed in there, as well, would be ideal!

Potashminer: Not exactly what you're looking for, but a possible source could be Maxpedition. The site lists a variety of pouches and bags, etc. All excellent quality. There may be something in there that may be suitable. Might be worth a look.

Thank you. After posting here Post #1, I thought to change my Google search - apparently is no longer "correct" to look for a pouch for a "magazine" - I ended up ordering one from Amazon.ca - is called a "cell phone" pouch that appears to be adequate size, I think.

I use a tactical tailor mag pouch but it’s not ideal, it’s a 10rd 7.62 NATO mag pouch so the LE mag is completely in the pouch and doesn’t stick out like a reg 10rd Mag does. Which is fine as I only have it in the pouch while in a vehicle or at home, if actively hunting it’s locked into the rifle.

I use the old leather swiss army pouch. Has leather flap with a brass stud to hold close. Sorry no pic as mine are buried some where in the gun room. I just googled swiss army 1945 leather ammo double pouch for a pic but omg has the price ever gone up since I bought mine. Originally for Swiss army K11/K31 rifle magazines

I tried putting one in an ar-15 mag pouch. Inserted sideways it goes most of the way in, leaving just enough sticking out to make it easy to remove. It should leave plenty of room at the bottom for your sling. Lots of different models to choose from.

You may want to consider purchasing charger clips instead of switching magazines. The magazines have rather delicate feed lips that can become misaligned (crushed) when being inserted quickly into the receiver. The Lee Enfield was designed for rapid reloading using chargers and not swapping the magazine for that reason.

I believe that I saw some on Amazon that were Austrailian surplus. These would be blued and not Parkerized and would be good quality. I bought Australian chargers years ago and have never had an issue with them.

Enjoy your project.

CharlesT - yep, would be my first choice - but for the rifle at hand, it has a scope mounted with Parker Hale A 20 and A21 bases - so charger loading is not an option, in this case.

I do have 5 or 6 303 British chargers on hand - likely have had them 10 years or more - I am not sure of their country of origin, but I have made myself familiar enough with how they work - similar for some various Mausers, as well.

My intention is for a pouch to attach to a padded carry case - rifle will be in the case - I want a pouch with magazine / ammunition attached to that case, so if I have the rifle case, I also have a magazine and ammo for it. No intention to carry a spare for reloading - is for my "have to walk home through Manitoba bush" rifle - to be on board my side-by-side until I break down or get stuck. Too many wild things in the bush here - I would prefer to walk home carrying a loaded rifle - carry case and pouch will stay behind with the side-by-side.

Thanks to all - from a CGN'r, I have just bought a Cordura pouch with velcro closure that sounds like originally made as a First Aid pouch to be worn on a duty belt - size looks about perfect - likely much more robust than the cell phone pouch that I ordered from Amazon, but both have not yet been received. Will be nice to have "choices", when I could not really find anything ...
