Hello,

Has there been much trouble getting 1911 mags from the states (say, Brownells?)

edit:I read a bunch of threads on the same subject and see 10 different answers...does the under 100 dollars still work for magazines? Is there any paperwork involved?

No... you should be fine.
A bunch of people on this forum have ordered mags from the states with no issues.... including myself.

What kind of mags are you looking at?
For 1911's I've read that Wilson 47D's, Tripp Cobra II, Kim Pro Tac Mags, Checkmate, are the best.

I personally have a KimPro Tac-mag (8rd S/S) and 3 checkmate S/S 7rd mags.

Thanks for the responses.

Wilson 47D's. The reason I ask is because there seems to be a good 36% mark up on them in Canada, and that is factoring in currency exchange which seems a little steep to me.

Got my notice that they are at the post office to pick up today, 10 days from time of ordering to delivery from Brownells is not too shabby

There is one catch - the manufacturer of the magazine must be registered with the State Dept. for their products to be exported by a licenced exporter, like Brownells. In all likelihood, some mag. manufacturers are and some aren't.

I'm looking for magazines for my FN FiveSeven. Unfortunately Brownells doesn't have one. Do you guys know any other reliable supplier/exporter able to get magz I need? FiveSeven magz are as cheap as $20 in US but I still can not figure out a way of getting them here.
