HI Guys,

I have a gen 2 Tavor and was wondering if anyone knows which magazines fit on a closed bolt Tavor. My Beowulf Canadian mags and IWI both don't fit on a closed bolt and would prefer ones that fit both closed and open bolt to ensure proper operation of the Tavor. Thanks in advance.

Honestly its pretty random. The issue your probably having is they were pined to exactly 5 rounds. The good ones are pinned to 5.5 rounds, this allows the stack to be depressed slightly when seated against the closed bolt.

I have several Pmags, all gen2, and some will seat on a closed bolt, others wont. Depends on whomever did the pin. This is in an AR-15 but same principle.

Sounds like your followers need a slight trim... Ditch the plastic Beo mags... They're clearly inferior!

Always shocks me that people will neuter a $2600 rifle by cheaping out on mags. Buy a few quality metal AA mags and worry no more...

My LAR pistol mags with Magpul followers never had an issue fitting with a closed bolt with ten rounds in my AR. In my Tavor, they will only fit with 9 rounds in them. My ATRS mags do fit with ten rounds, but I do feel like I'm jamming them in there.

Bought the AA Beowulf ones and currently they are having a bit of problem loading a full mag in a closed bolt. The mag fits, and locks in, but doesnt feed. You need to shove it in after the bolt is open it has more space to move up and actually feed.

I have had a similar problem with several different pistols. In each case I was able to take the mag follower out and shave a tenth of an inch or so off the bottom, so the last round would still have some wiggle room.

Any mag will have issues on a closed bolt if you're absolutely loading to the limit. I have some 5.5 plays and they seat with 5, as does the IWI mag, and my AA mags seat with 15 I think it is.
