I need to upgrade my mag pouches for my Tanfoglio Limited Custom. I will stick with the Ghost 360 but add a couple more. What I am wondering about is magnets. I see many shooters now running these for table pic ups etc. So those that are using them how are you set up?

Running two magnets close to the front of your rig? With or with out wings! Are they hard to pull the mags off of? Say more so than a regular pouch? What should I look for?

Thinking 2 magnets and 3 regular pouches? Of should it be 2 and 4? Again looking at Ghost.

Please share your thoughts and experience. Thanks. DVC

Yes. I found they were. Run a Limited Custom as well. Experimented with the same idea. They were extremely strong. Removed one of the magnets and ran them with only one, still a pain to pull.
Thought it was a great idea, ended up not. Great for the stripper mag on you back belt though.

Changed back to the old school mag pouches, much easier.

I put one on the end pouch for Standard Division. It works great for table pick ups, and you get to meet the most interesting people when they walk too close. Don't leave a mag on there or you get to play with Open people.

Interesting. So with one magnet on table pick up you put another in the pouch? I thought the magnets might be too strong. So maybe get the ghost with magnet attached?

You can 'weaken' the magnet by putting tape on its face. Like electric tape.

If the magnet face is large enough you should be able to put two on a single magnet.

I use all magnets. I find they hold well and release when I grab for a mag. Didn't like the idea of grabbing one way for a pouch and somehow different for a magnet.

Magnets are best for table pickups as you can put the ammo anywhere on your person aslong as the ammo starts on the table and is not in contravention of division equipment rules.

Otherwise, use it to hold your stripper mag.

if you are trying to pull the mag off the magnet instead of sliding it up, you will find it hard to do. but if you pull it the same you do from a pouch it shouldn't be much different. I've got 2 magnets on the outside of my first 3 pouches as sometimes, in Canada, you're going to need to grab 3 or 4 mags. Over here in Europe even on a long course I only need to grab 2 after i load the gun usually (production div)
