Magnification for .22LR rifle?

Within 50 yards, the Leupold VX-2 Rimfire EFR 3-9X33 (110827) is the best all-round .22 scope made, IMO. Though the AO is only marked down to 10 yards, in reality it will focus down to about 3.

Run a 2-7 vx1 shotgun scope (65yd parallax) on the hunting rimfire, and a 4.5-14 Burris timberline AO on the one I use on the bench mostly.

Some kind of 4-12 with AO sounds like might work decent for you.
