It is a vortex3-9 should work for what you describe.
Is there a problem with the Vortex?
Upgrading will be dependant on what your willing too spend. Many times theres high end optics on the EE for the same price as lesser new optics. Im thinking a nice high quality HD glass with 3-15X would suit you requisites perfectly. For the money I think better options are available than Leupold. Too many fakes and problems, I have a couple different Zeiss and have had great luck. Bought a Dialyt 3-12X50 and its awesome, enough that I bought another one new from a dealer. Paid $900 all in for the used and $1100 plus Turds bite on the new one. Really great glass. Lots of great options out there. What magnification would you all recommend for optics on a 270 X-Bolt? I hunt over open fields with distances from 50-350 yards. 150 grain Nosler Partitions. Currently have a 3x9 Vortex Diamondback and looking to upgrade.
Thank you. I appreciate your response. 3x15 sounds like a good idea. Do you have any suggestions on what type of reticle to look for. Any manufacturers you’d suggest over the Vortex?3-9 should be more than adequate, but that near bottom of the barrel Vortex is trash.
Almost anything else is better than that.
I've recently moved to a 50mm from a 40mm objective and it's a remarkable difference.
I've had to use the generous VORTEX warranty one too manyvtime to remain a customer.Any manufacturers you’d suggest over the Vortex?
At the distances your hunting I’d just use a simple duplex reticle. With your 270 sighted in 1,5” high at 100 you’ll be able to hold on hair and hit your target. Set targets at your distances you hunt and see where you’re hitting. Practice and familiarity with your rifle and ammo makes you much more prepared hunter.Thank you.
