Magnified scope for shotgun

Hey there, me and my uncle do a fair bit of deer hunting with our rifled barrel shotguns and I've had pretty good luck with the red dot on my shotgun but my uncle has not. He is now leaning towards a magnified scope for his 12ga because a few of his buddies have had good luck with their magnified scopes. Monkey see monkey do.
Just wondering what kind of light weight, compact scope would work best on a 12 ga.
Any suggestions?

I'd go with a 1.5-4.5 or something similar. As Nomad says, almost every manufacturermakes a shotgun-specific scope. A really nice and tough one is an older Bushnell Banner in 1.5-4.5. I had one on a 458 Win and it held up no problems.
