Magnum Large Pistol Primers

Well, I won't say yes or no because I'll get a ton of arguements about it but I'll tell you this.
I've used magnum rifle primers in regular rifle loads (30-30)
I've used large pistol primers in regular rifle loads (30-30)
I've used regular primers in magnum rifle loads (300 win mag)
I've used large rifle primers in hand gun loads (44 mag)
I've used magnum rifle primers in hand gun loads (44 mag)
I've recently used CCI large rifle primers from the early 1960's in my 300 win mag and every single one worked perfectly with no effect on accuracy.
I've never adjusted a charge to compensate for the primer
I've never had a problem or noticed any difference in preformance
I'm still not going to say yes you can do what you're asking......I'll just say that you can draw your own conclusions from my experience.

"...Safe to use..." Yep. However, magnum primers are about the powder used. They have nothing whatever to do with the cartridge name. They're made to ignite hard to light powders and for cold weather shooting. No .45 powder needs 'em. Won't hurt anything if you do though.
