Magpul ACS *Updated With Pics*

I finally got the stock mounted it feels great and I think it looks great. The only bone I have to pick about it is... 1)The stock still has some play in it even when you clamp it down. This may be normal but I just thought it would be tight with no movement once clamped down. 2) The battery storage tubes are waaay to big. When you put AA's in them they just rattle around and it gets annoying. If they would have made the tubes ID the same or closer to the Batteries OD then it wouldn't sound like a babies rattle. In any event I just put some batteries in the side storage with a little piece of foam, no biggy.

@ 1) Is your buffer tube mil-spec or commerical?

@ 2) Thats because they are meant for CR123A's which are a larger size battery, it fits 6 x 123's and 4xAA's. No way both can be snug in the tube without foam or rubber spacers and fillers.

Pretty happy with them ;)

DO WANT! Is that the new sight/scope from Leupold Tactical Division?

Yes that is the Leupold CQBSS 1.1-8x

The ACS should have no movement when locked down on a MilSpec tube -- I had some people out for a demo today and shot over 600rds thru the gun pictured above, no movement on the stock when locked...

So what do you suggest I do? The box says milspec, the seller confirms its authenticity and that it is 100% Milspec. The buffer tube is a BCM milspec tube... When I depress the locking lever it is fairly easy to lock down. When its locked down it definalty eliminates alot of the play that exists prior to locking. The play thats left is a little side to side movement....

As I said in another post my ACS also has a slight movement when it's locked down. I've tried it on my Colt 6920 milspec tube and when I moved it to another AR with a milspec tube the same thing occurred. I think I purchased it from the same vendor as you did and the label on the Magpul carton describes it as a milspec version. The CTR seems to lock up a lot tighter than the ACS does.

Out of interest I got in a new Magpul MOE stock yesterday. I mounted it on a CTR Milspec tube, the fit is perfect (they are very similar). No wobble and nice and smooth. It came with a rubber but pad, which seems to have a lower durometer than the CTR one however its visually the same.

For $50 bucks its a nice stock.
