Magpul AK47- Grip on CZ-858 - Anyone try this yet?

Surfing the web and spotted Magpul goodness.
Has anyone tried a mod to make it work on a CZ-858?

There's no reason it won't fit. Does Magpul supply a new bolt with it? If not you will have to source an AK grip bolt or find a long M6X1.0 bolt and cut it to fit right. The grip will only need a little trimming to fit the CZ ferrule or you can remove the ferrule altogether. Its good to have real kool-aid for the CZ. Real kool-aid.

Yes very easy to do. Just need a dremel or a file and some time.

I am ordering one, no idea about how it will fit.

Some folks remove the grip retaining plate. Is this the best way to do this?

I pulled off my grip plate and drilled into the grip to allow the CZ screw to reach. Mixed results for some, just make sure it's solid in the end.

I'm about to drop the coin on a grip but not if the results are questionable...

I'm pretty handy but I've never come across a detailed set of directions for modding an AK grip. I know folks on here have done it though.

Once you get the parts in hand its pretty straight forward. The sides of the grip at the top need to be narrowed to fit the CZ grip ferrule or you can remove the ferrule by drilling out the spot weld and bending it back and forth to break it off. The original AK grips use an M6X1.0 bolt like the CZ but they are longer than the CZ bolt. If the Magpul grip comes with a new bolt then you're GTG. I've had to modify old bolts from dirt bikes and quads to fit by cutting the threads further down then shortening the bolt cos I didn't have on that fit perfect.

Ridgearms was the first cat to publicly announce it on this web site that it was possible. Just like Stevo was the first to announce that the AK47 to AR15 pistol grip adaptor would work on the VZ 58/CZ 858 rifles with modification.
