So I tried ordering an ASAP sling plate from MagPul but apparently a $30 piece of metal can't be exported. Is there any dealers that stock these items (US with permits or lord forbid a Canadian retailer that might see this product in the next ten years or so).

Building an AR in Canada has to be the most frustrating legal thing I have ever done in this country. Does anyone have parts in stock.....ever?

Help!

It was easier a few months back, but now it is hard to find quality parts that's for sure.
The one thing american companies think about when it comes to exporting parts to Canada is that we are not a big market for them, there is more people in california than Canada, so you see why it's not really important for them to care about us canadian customers.
Those parts will probably be more available in the EE than anywhere else now, some dealers at the top of the forum carry Magpul stuff like Wolverine, you could e-mail them to know if they could have that part you are looking for.

WTF? They must have just changed their website recently.

FYI we dont ship to California...

Don't think that Canadians are the only ones getting boned.

For Brownell's to export - the Manufacturer needs to be set up to export under DOS -- for most it is not worth it - huge $ requirements, and a lot of their product is verbotten in Canada (20 and 30 round PMAG's anyone...)

Canadians already get the BEST ITAR allowances from the USA - and the CF is granted waivers and exemptions from a lot of policies.

To ship a Mk11 to Canada to a Mil or LE entity takes us about 4-6 days for approval - including "Non-Export" NV systems and Sound Suppressors.

I am sorry that civilians are not treated as well, most of that came from CDN Politicians lobbying the US to make barriers...

If Brownells carries it they should ship it. Magpul could but won't bother to get the permits. Brownells has the permit and ships magpul stuff here all the time.

Take a look at the Troy OEM M4 sling mounts we have, basically the same thing. With a single point sling set up it still allows you to transition to the other shoulder, which is the whole point of the Magpul one.

Otherwise just go with a Vickers sling which is better than a single point anyway ;)

Magpul is also extremely busy right now. They have posted on their site that they are NOT taking orders from the general puglic on many popular items untill things slow down. They are only filling orders to dealers at the moment.

I ordered one over a month ago direct from Magpul. Before the ITAR notice was on their site. As of two weeks ago they have charged my VISA and it seems to have been shipped. I guess I'll just have to wait.

It's a knock off, but it mounts and works. Made it to my door in 5 days. Might be worth a look.

I would be contacting VISA and tell them some story to try and get then to do a chargeback. You won't be seeing the item. And the supplier has no motivation to refund you since you can't buy from them anyway. Your best hope to get a refund is to try to get VISA to do a chargeback for you.

Don't get your hopes up. There is a guy on Fleabay that sells the same thing. I emailed him and asked if it will work on a real gun. He said its airsoft only. I might be wrong but let us know if it works. I would also like one of these very deadly baby killing plates.

It is directed at the Airsoft guys, but it mounted up perfectly to my Armalite; no fitting problems, good and solid. The welds appear to be good, and the finish matches. I figured for the $25 I'd give it try, seeing how you can get them from the South. My sling is in transit, I will let you know if there is any issues.

The Fakesoft version doesn't seem to have the ears like the real plate to ensure that it won't rotate.

The point of them advertising that it is airsoft only is so that they don't get flak for selling "Firearm' parts.

Just like the Daniel Defense Rail and VLTOR stock I got...both 'Airsoft' products but worked like a dream. (for 75% less)

Well I'm not sure how critical the ears are. THey could have just overengineered it just in case. When someone asked if the ASAP will fit on the KAC SR-15 (because of the ambi quick disconnect cups in the way near the back of the lower receiver), Travis said he could try cutting down the ears. He also mentions that the older prototype ASAP used by Costa didn't have them.

Order from brownells, I had three of my orders show up last week, I got Midwest Ind. Flip sights, I got magpul Maid kit, and I also got Magpul XT rail panels, all with no problems what so ever... I saved $50 bucks on that flip sight vs buying it from questar...
