The Magpul production version is quite a bit different than the pre-production version that has been reviewed on www. .itstactical.com blog. I wonder if they addressed the 'play' issues that were 'by design' according to the review. Anyways, looking forward to seeing an updated comparison to the Phase 5 tactical version. I am a bit of a Magpul fanboy, so I hope the product will live up to the hype!

As for the price, $30 US, from Brownell's will be closed to $60 Cdn once you factor in exchange rate, shipping and taxes.

I don't think having anything other than the trigger (and your finger) inside a trigger guard is a good idea.

This could potentially cause some problems if accidentally hit during a mag change...no?

It shouldn't be a problem. It either locks the bolt open, or releases it to close. Your finger shouldn't be in there if it doesn't know what it's doing.

I don't know about the magpul BAD but the Phase 5 tactical extended bolt release requires deliberate and moderate force to release the bolt. And you shouldn't have your finger inside the trigger guard when doing mag changes.
