I was wondering if magpul flip up sights are any good, I ordered a FDE front sight(barrel end) and was unable to locate a rear sight. I was thinking the rear sight would be the most important so would it be benificial to grab a troy and would it be combatable?

I recommend blaxsun as well or you can order straight from brownells.
I've run them, but IMHO I found them to have excessive wiggle, especially the rear sight in terms of side to side. They would work great for a light, close-in backup sight - but they are not a good choice for moderate to long range accurate shooting with irons if you ask me.

Excessive wiggle? Are you sure your sights are genuine Magpul products and not knockoffs? Every set I have here has about as much "play" (if you could call it that) as a Troy sight.
I agree that they are not meant to be dedicated iron sights but they can and do preform at longer ranges.
If the OP wants really good iron sights and intends to shoot with them on a regular basis, I would recommend spending the extra money and getting KAC or Troy....BUT if he is on a budget, the Magpul ones will do fine.
I've owned a couple Magpul sets and now have the Troy's.
First, I had no problem with the Magpul's in terms of fit quality. They were solid and had no wiggle. In fact, they almost felt more solid than the Troy's; the pieces are so big, the plastic so hard, there was no play at all...whereas with the Troy's if I really press on them (side to side) there is a little play but the constant spring tension keeps them securely set. I don't worry about it.
Why did I lose the Magpuls for the Troy set?
The number one reason, I really disliked the MBUIS front sight picture; the floating front sight post was not as "friendly" (i.e. clean) for me as the HK-Styled Troy's (i.e. superb).
Another con to the MBUIS's was the size. They are huge. I do like the "automatic" feature, but also disliked the tangs on the rear sight; they kinda get in the way of the charging handle a little.
In the end I prefer the Troy's. However, I'd definitely give the GEN2's a shot whenever they are released as it looks like they've addressed all my complaints. In fact I plan on ordering a set as soon as I can.

Whatever guys, I've literally had THREE sets, all three from different vendors, tow in Canada - one in the US. They all came in legit magpul packaging and were legit magpul products.
They simply were not as solidly built as ARMS, Daniel Defense, Larue, etc. They just weren't. I'm sorry, but I call it like I see it. Plastic sights aren't the pinnacle of rigidity and accuracy.
And no, I'm not down on Magpul products. I really like 99% of their stuff and run their mags and stocks on several guns. I no longer run their MBUS sights.

I have no issues with mine. I run them on my short and long barrels. I do use a micro T-1 as my primary, but the buis's still hold a zero for me when I need them. I do practice shooting with them regularly as well. Well not so much during the winter. I beat on them too.
