Hey guys,

I bought a Glock 26 gen3 yesterday as a CC pistol (in usa).

Since it's double stack, figured I'd get some full capacity mags. The magpul ones are about half price of the Glock.

I'm not going to be carrying full size mags just using them for range and competition use.

Anyone have any experience with them?

I use them in my Glock 17 and 1000 rounds later with 3 pmags, not one single mag related malfunction. Slide held to the rear on last round everytime. And all mags drop free

Range in-lane practice, they are just as reliable as the oem glock mags. I've only used them once in idpa, and i had problems with the mag being too light and not dropping as consistent and reliable as i would like. But since you'll be using them on a g26, you may not experience the same problem.

I've seen a few magpul mags that are pretty chewed up and have some occasional 'quirks', but in fairness they probably have easily 5000 rounds through them.

Having said that, the OEM Glock mags probably have double through them and they still work like a swiss (er.. Austrian?) watch

Not sure what the others are on about but my Magpul Glock mags work as well as OEM's and I've put a lot of rounds through them. At half the price they're a no brainer really. Don't forget that magazines are consumables and don't/won't last forever. Toss them when they're damaged(after robbing any parts that are still good of course) and replace them.

If you are using a gun to defend and protect life, do you really want to cheap out on parts? You won't have a second chance if things go wrong in a gunfight.
I would use Magpuls for practice and OEM for real carry.

Did you not read my first post? I clearly said I'm not going to be carrying full size magazines for EDC, that's what the shorty OEM glock 10 rounders are for.

Thats exactly what the plan is, magpul for competition (Custer holds "conceal carry" matches monthly/biweekly) and range use only. Midway has em for $12.50.

From this quote, I read that you wanted full cap Magpul Glock mags for CCW.
My apologies for misreading your post.
Are you carrying spare mags for the 26? If so, I would carry the 17rd ones as a back up to the 10 rd mag.
For competition, use whatever you want.

I bought a few to test (after they had the initial issues worked out) and ran them through several high volume classes as well as general range use. No issues so far. Have since ordered more. At the price, you can't go wrong. Especially for training use, considering they're about half price of OEM.

haha.. the next line said im not going to carry full-size magazines for EDC. Mostly cause I got too much #### in my pockets as is. I think 21 rounds is more than enough for a self defense situation. Considering right now i only have 7 rounds of 380 ACP, I think 21 rounds of 9mm would be plenty.

What type of ammo and what type of holster?

Ammo, federal hydrashocks 165 gr's. Right now im running SCHP (solid copper hollow points) by colt for my 380. Will be looking for similar for 9mm, looking to get cor bon DPX's. Probably going to order it from midway along with the pmags.

Nice holster. I ordered the OWB version for a couple of my guns. For IDPA use. Da#n cheap for what you get!
165gr is a heavy round for a 9mm. Have you tried it yet? Wonder what the recoil would be like from a Baby Glock.
The CorBon stuff is +P ammo isn't it?

I haven't fired the gun yet, maybe tomorrow but probably not until saturday even tho the range is 10 minutes away just not enough daylight.
Yep +P, I really like the solid copper hollow points.

I can conceal carry anywhere that is not prohibited (ie no school buildings, jail cells, court houses, mental facilities and 21+ over restricted places aka pot shops and bars) in the state of washington. And in the following states, according to their CC statutes:

Idaho North Dakota
Kansas Ohio
Louisiana Oklahoma
Michigan Tennessee
North Carolina Utah

We will see about the range report, I can barely hit where i am aiming on 8.5x11 paper with my ruger LCP at 7 yards. Inside of 5 yards all shots go where im pointing. I really haven't been shooting pistols much but will be changing that. Luckily custer has a pretty good shooting structure so rain aint really a factor.

Thanks for the info. I was under the impression WA permits were issued by the Counties and that some (like Seattle) were quite anti-gun. I do know WA is a Shall Issue state so I guess it's a State mandated policy.
Isn't it ironic that the US trusts a legal, law-abiding stranger to carry a loaded firearm on their person and Canada won't allow their own citizens to protect themselves? ( I know you're a dual citizen. I meant like AZ and NH)

They are issued by the police department via department of licensing. The conceal pistol license is good state wide. But you have to apply at your local police Dept or sheriff office. Where they finger print you for the state police and they also have permission to have access to all your medical records regarding mental health etc. It's a fairly drawn out process as they also do background checks with FBI and ATF to confirm you can legally possess firearms.

On carrying in Seattle, signs businesses put up don't mean anything. Like you can't get charged for having a gun there, however of they notice that you are armed they can ask you to leave and you must otherwise guilty of criminal trespass and your cpl will come under review.

But if you carry into a prohibited place you will be charged with a misdemeanor and cpl will be revoked for 1 year.

Also Washington state does not have a stand your ground law, but there was a finding by courts that you have no duty to retreat where you are legally allowed to be.

Good info to know, again. Thanks and safe carrying!
