Also, doesn't 7.62 NATO usually sit in a straight box, such as the FN FAL? I've never seen 7.62 NATO in a curved magazine like that...

Probably, a f@3k up, but the 7.62x45 did exist...well, a dead calibre now. The Czechs used it in their VZ52 rifle.

Edit - the intial MASADA screen shot page just opened for me -- WTF ARMS mounts on a Short Dot -- WTF no self respecting shooter would put a Short Dot in anything other than a Larue mount...
