Magpul MOE Handguard on Norinco M4

So I recived my order of Magpul goodies today, BUIS, MOE Handguard, CTR Stock and Miad Grip. I put everything else on no issues but I cant for the life of me get the Magpul MOE Handguard to go on, it just seems to long. Has anyone had this isssue or is it just me with the issue?? Does it need modification to fit the Norinco? Any help would be much appreciated.

Fitting is required.
Over all length was fine on mine. The thickness of the plastic that goes into the handguard retainer was too thick. Took a file to the offending part to thin it out and it fit fine afterwards.

You shouldn't need to shorten it, just thin out the forward lips so it can properly go in. I only filed the forward lips. A tapco delta ring tool helps too.

After some filing and some cursing, mine went it fine.
 
use a dremel CAREFULLY!!!!
trim off an 8th of an inch from the front lower handguard and then taper another 8th of an inch from front lower handguard.

also taper an 8th of an inch from the rear lower handguard.

the star shaped nut @ the rear gives a little trouble until the plastic handguard fits(chews a little plastic off from fitting on/off).

use tapco handguard pliers or the rubber handles from large channel-lock pliers.
 
Nice tip there toyboy for the Channel lock pliers handle to push down on the lock ring. I was just about to order a handguard tool but you fixed my problem.
