Magpul PC Carbine Backpacker stock

I received mine from RDSC a few weeks ago, placed the order last year and received them out of the blue at the original price.
Excellent service from them. Great stock.

Does anyone know whether you can run the Magpul stock with the factory aluminum forend?

The Backpacker stocks are two pieces that are designed to mate together when taken down.... it should work with half back packer and half factory alum foreend for shooting, but you will lose the ability for the two halves to lock together when taken down.

I read that in the fine print it says you need the standard stock forend for it to work. I'm in the same boat, I have the mlok forend and I have an ODG on order with RDSC. I hope someone brings in some of those takedown blocks for us to buy or brownells.

I was sad to see that when I bought a spare x22 backpacker forend, that it didn't come with a locking assembly. I had to source one from a Ruger parts store in Quebec.

" The Magpul PC Backpacker Stock - Ruger® PC Carbine™ is compatible with all Ruger PC Carbine receivers in 9mm Luger and 40 S&W. Ruger models equipped with chassis and/or tubular handguards utilize a Modular Handguard Mount1 which will need to be replaced by the end user with a standard Takedown Block2 in order to mount the Magpul Forend."

Interesting, are you saying that there is more then one type of locking block? I just assumed the other foreends used the same locking block.

Thanks for the info, exactly what i was looking for!
Hopefully someone builds one like this as i'd love to see how it looks.
Cheers

Can someone please post a photo side-by-side comparison of the stocks? I am interested to know what the LOP is compared to the original. Thanks.

I’m a little
Confused, Are you guys saying other parts are needed for the backpacker stock
To work ?

What’s this deal with the locking block?

Will these backpacker stocks work with the aluminum rail handguard ppsh style take down pc carbine or only the original style ?

This is directly from magpuls website. It sounds like it only works with the regular non mlok forends. I emailed a Ruger warranty centre in Quebec, no updates.

The Magpul stocks will only work with the original style pc carbine. They will not work with the ones that came with m-lok handguards. The locking blocks are different.

I heard back from the Ruger warranty centre in Quebec, they've reached out to Ruger and some kits are being assembled to address this issue. Keep CGN posted on what I hear.
