Magpul PDR-C.

Where have you guys been for the last 3 weeks? Milspecmonkey always has gear reviews right after shot. Anyway, it does look impressive and promising. A far better choice for a vehicle crew weapon than the FN P90 or other sub cal systems.

I friggen hate concept weapons. "here's a waste of our time and money. This amazing and practical weapon is soo frigen sweet, but we're not going to make it. We just want to show you the cool things that you can't have."

Concept weapons or concept products are a fact of life. Everything you've ever bought has been thoroughly researched to ensure adequate sales. The concept(and its release) is what generates the interest to pursue the project further.

I agree, it is frustrating being teased but its part of the process. Even if these concepts make it to production, I doubt Canada will see any of them due to our government. In the best case, we'll see new products like this atleast a year after their initial release. Canada is not a large enough market for anyone to care.

with rapid prototyping being as easy as print theses days we will see this more and more. they are basicly fishing with it until some colonel stroll by and say : i will take 5000

The PDR does have a place in the world. Non-frontline troops have been crying for a compact rifle for a while. I know one of the biggest complaints I hear from those such as medics or drivers, is that the C7 is too damn long for what they need. They aren't up in the ####, what do they need this 20" bbl rifle hanging off their back for?

The P90 was a great concept but they blew it by introducing a new oddball cartridge. Any military likes to keep things simple. The less ammo differences, the better.

Hell I'm trying to consolidate ammo and I have less than a dozen guns...let alone millions.

With the P90 I'm very impressed with the engineering/design concept. Also the ammo selection doesn't scare me. Although you're right in Canada it's more of a novelty since ammo for this firearm requires buying the components yourself. Personally I think the SS190 5.7x28 isn't fully appreciated for it's potential. Personal opinion I know. Probably another thread.

Advantages of the P90. I like the ergonomics better, at least from all of the pictures I've seen since I've never actually tried one. I like the unique 50 round magazine and it's placement over the regular bull-pup design. I lalso like the fact that the SMG was built around the unique cartridge from the ground up. Plus the fact that SS190 has about 2/3rds the recoil of a 9mm pistol round while still delivering armor piercing rifle round capabilities.

Anyways as we all know it's not really a one or the other argument. The Magpull would definately be fun and there are some things going for it.

I hate to say it, but for the intended purpose, that goofy kel-tec SU-16 is probly better.

Mind you, the Kel Tec stuff is so poorly executed, only a crazy person would go for it.

FBI has issue a white paper to all american police force saying they should stop using 5.7 x 28 because of the poor terminal effect. 99.9% of the shooting police swat team do is against soft target and this is just performing too poorly
