Ok,

So, on a diverting note, the Def Rev article mentions rate reducing requirements, and as I was looking at that, and the fact that the gun contains a built-in power cell in the pistol grip, something occurred to me.

Has anyone ever experimented with using either magnetic, or electro-magnetic cyclic rate reduction?

Ie, when the bolt is cycled to the rear, either using a rare-earth magnet to momentarily retard the bolt, or, using a momentary surge from an electromagnetic coil to slow the bolt.

Just an idea, I'm wondering if anyone's ever pursued.
