"Magpul" Rifles

Im thoroughly confused now. I just talked to a guy who works at my gun range/gun store (Target Sports, for those who are familiar with it), and as per my question regarding the MR .223 and putting on commercial stocks (like the Magpul CTR stock) and a new grip (like the Magpul Miad grip) he said:

"Absolutely not! The only way you would ever be able to put on a CTR stock to the MR .223 is by spending $1000 to get a new buffer tube..."

When i asked about the MIAD grip, he said:

"Not a chance. The entire gun is proprietary"

So i honestly dont know what to think anymore.

It still amazes me the morons that are found working in gun stores. I would think Target Sports would have more knowledgeable staff employed there...that being said I called there one time to try and buy over $1k worth of Aimpoint products and the guy on the phone hung up on me! When I called back to see if it was just a misunderstanding, he told me there was a customer at the counter and they were more important then me! Needless to say they lost my business.

That is an awesome setup you got going on there. Basically 1 for 1 what i plan on doing to my MR .223.

You didn't have to swap buffer tubes are anything to put that stock on did you?

Also, how do you like your AFG?

Let me begin by apologizing to Donster 125 and the misunderstanding regarding the incident at our store, it would seem that we have some staff that require additional product knowledge training, the staff member in question seems to have gotten his information all mixed up, other then the upper not fitting standard lowers (stupid German export laws) and certain proprietary items unique to the piston system - it is just another AR platform (alright it is H&K Kool Aid). Angryeyebrows if you could please contact me by e-mail to discuss your particular incident, I would like to get some more details and make it right by you - joe@targetsportscanada.com

Not mine...just an image off the net. I just wanted to show an example of a customized MR223. If I wanted to get one of these, I would set it up like this one too. Maybe better sights.
