Hey everybody thought I would get your thought and what to do! Just put on magpul furniture and love it BUT the forend is rubbing on the barrel at the back end towards the trigger! On another post some other guy stated the same thing on his 590 but he sanded it down and is now good to go. Mine has also be sanded down but seems to need more... Ya I could sand all day but how much material do I take off before saying screw this? Do I call the place of purchase and return or sand it down?

Can you post a pic of where it's rubbing. I haven't heard of this on the 870. On the 590 there's an anti rotational piece that tends to rub. The 870 doesn't have this.

Are you sure you have the fore-end mounted square on the fore-end tube? On mine there was a bit of play and if not centered properly allowed the fore-end to rub on the barrel.

Is it an aftermarket barrel? Some of them (Dlask and nea) are tapered a little different than a genuine Remington barrel. I have one of each of these barrels and every forend I have put on them has needed relieving

I will post pic's, I definitely put it on the right way! Who has one on there 870? If I rack mine back hard it gets stuck on the receiver! Pissed

I lightly sanded mine just to make sure it doesnt marr the finish on my Dlask, but it wasn't rubbing much really... more of a precaution than a necessity.
But sand away I say.

It doesn't f'n fit!!! Sorry I'm pissed I tried filing and even a grinder came out! What is Magpul's warranty? Does anyone know if the tactical model is slimmer then the express?

Pics please. I really have a hard time believing that its that far out that sanding can fix the issue for you. And if it is you're probably SOL for warranty as you've now sanded the #### out of it.

Mine is an express receiver and a Dlask barrel... I doubt you have anything thicker than this so I'm having a hard time figuring out what is happening there; pics?

I had the same problem on my 590 A1 , the ears on the anti rotation tab that came with the forend had to be filed down or it would rub on the barrel when you pull the pump back making the action really stiff . It even came with a specific tab for the heavy barrel 590A1 ? Its was like Magpul designed it to fit really tight to the barrel when the pump is forward but for some stupid reason did not take into account the wider taper on the barrel as you pull the pump back ..
