Got the stock today from Canadian Tactical Cowboy Supplies. Thanks again for a prompt order process and fast shipment.
This stock seems alot bigger in pictures than in person. Very compact. I was happy to see that the stock bolts to the receiver via a channel cut into the top of the pistol grip, and not through the rear of the stock via the buttpad like traditional stocks. The stock feels solid enough, fit and finish is excellent. Weight is negligible.
Strange thing, is that I got rig of my Hogue 12" LOP as it was too short. I was straining too much to get a proper grip. I measured the length of the Magpul as it comes out of the box (one spacer installed) and it's 10 3/4, yet the ergonomics being so different makes it much more comfortable. The grip contour is really nice, comfortable and grippy.
I found that with the Hogue 12" LOP my trigger finger was able to reach the trigger ok, but with the Magpul it brushes against the forward section of the trigger guard.
I was not, however very happy to see that my GG&G rear sling mount (between the stock and receiver) would not fit with the bolt that comes with the stock, as the bolt is too short. At first I figured I would pick up a longer bolt at the local hardware store (1/2" longer at most) but then I remembered that Magpul makes an adaptor kit for SGA stocks that allows you to plug in a female end for a QD attachment point. Granted it's alot more $ compared to buying one hex bolt but I think I will be better off as that attachment point will end up making the shotgun sit higher up on my chest. We'll see how it feels once I get it (thanks One Shot Tactical). Besides it's another excuse to buy more gear lol.

Its also a good idea to widen the trigger group access point with sandpaper on a dowel. Otherwise you will have to remove the bolt access door and loosen the stock in order for the trigger group to pass through the stock's cutout freely.
Popping that bolt access door out and in repeatedly is not something you want to do. The small tab on the door will snap eventually.
This is a hiccup with Mossberg SGA, the 870 does not have this issue.

One of my SGA stocks came with the tab broken already in the box this past summer. Took a site sponsor dealer here over a month to send me a new one. It was ridiculous. I now order my Magpul stuff elsewhere because I had to keep hounding them for a resolution and was constantly just receiving lip service from them.

Great looking set up you have here, I "like"! :)

I asked this in another thread but it didn't get answered so I'll ask here...

Question for you guys that have a SGA specifically on a 590A1. I just received my 14" SG and one of the things I dislike about it is the stock. For me, it's not just the LOP but the grip angle of the stock. When my hand is in the most comfortable position, low on the pistol grip, my trigger finger just barely covers the trigger. Would the SGA help improve this situation?

My 870 Express is perfect for me in this regard and have not once felt uncomfortable with it, even with the cheap wood stocks.

Reading your post, it appears that it may indeed be a "fix" but I want to make sure first. Otherwise, I might have to explore other options or sell the gun outright.

Thanks. Well if you were, or will be, in my neck of the woods (QC, next to ON border) I'd say come by and try it out. My trigger finger has alot more reach than it did with the stock stock and Hogue 12" LOP. Really good stock. I've used the stock models, Hogue and Speedfeed IV-S (Remington 870 Police). So far the only one that comes close to handling/comfort is the SpeedFeed.

Nice setup ADK! I'll have something very similar once my stock and Mesa side saddle show up from CTCS. Canada Post seems to have lost the package temporarily.

Thanks, for the advice. Hopefully, it'll be just what I'm looking for. I'd be happy to take you up on your generous offer but I live in Nova Scotia so I won't be in the area unfortunately.

I got the QD adaptor for the stock yeterday, thanks again One Shot Tactical. Easy/simple to install. Pull out the plastic "plugs", drive in the QD socket and secure with the hardware. Seems solid enough but I think I'll be looking for a longer hex bolt and go back to trying to install my GG&G receiver sling plate. The shotgun just hangs lower than I would like and had I taken the time to think about this I would've realised that in the first place lol. Oh well, it's always good to have options and explore different pieces of kit.

So you're not going to use it after the install? What about the built in loop on the stock next to it? I guess it hangs at the same unwanted position with it?

Yep, hangs even lower. I'm going to leave the socket installed. Might come in handy in the future or see how else I can rig the sling.

Update. So I ended up going the route of finding a longer bolt. I ended up cutting about a 1/4" off (I bought it at 1.5"). Seems to do the trick. I checked to make sure it wasn't interfering with the trigger group and I was able to put the access cap back on the stock. The GG&G sling mount is now good to go once again.

Pics coming, my camera's data transfer cable #### the bed so hopefully tomorrow I'll have a replacement.

Just curious , why stay with gg&g and not get a Magpul SGA receiver sling mount ?

I should be more specific. The sling I have (BFG 221) is outfitted with QD sockets. Magpul doesn't make a rear (or front sling plate) receiver sling plate for QD attachments. Besides, I had to wait a long time for that GG&G set and it wasn't cheap lol.

I was thinking the same. And also, camera cable to upload? Gotta start doing the smartphone/tablet one touch pic upload thing dude! Santa's coming soon...?

One purchase at a time lol. This forum is cleaning me out. Yeah I could do the camera pic thing but my photos suck as it is, no need to make it worse.

Maybe I am misunderstanding but Magpul does make a QD socket for the SGA stock.

Edit, should have read the first page. Doh!

I hear ya man. Look at boxing day sales you get a good tablet for $220 or less.
The cameras on them have great auto settings and editing options to increase the pictures look.
Then you just download a free image host app and it's all tap tap tap and done.

The product you posted, which I did buy, is for the stock only. What I was referring to in my "update" is a sling plate that sits between the receiver and stock. The GG&G plate I have is for QD (quick detach) only. Magpul does make a receiver sling plate, but not for QD attachments. I'm sure they'll make one eventually. Thanks anyway.
