Magpul X22 barrel length question

Just a quick question for guys running a magpul X22 stock on their custom 10/22s. Is a 12.5” barrel long enough for those stocks or should a guy go with a 16.5”? Just wanna make sure it’s long enough that it comes a bit past the foreend.

16.5" barrel on this one, I would not go any shorter

12.5 JUST protrudes past the end of the stock. Very easy to maneuver and fun to shoot

I personally sold my 12.5" barrel for a 16" one, for aesthetic reasons, I don't like the short barrel look in the magpul stock.
I also kind of like the heavier 16" dlask barrel vs the carbon fiber ones. But I have no plans on lugging it around the woods, so ymmv
