handguard cap must be removed. pretty much a permanent mod unless you have the patience to drive out all the pins in the sight block and gas block, then re-install them all at the end.

you will need to trim the magpul inner chassis or the sling ring. either or. i like to adapt parts, and not the gun, so i cut the chassis. because of this, you will need to snip off the tab for the left side of the plastic shell, or else it will not slide on.

you will need #10-24 x 1 1/2 button head screws. i prefer tactical black. i bought some but lost them. so i stopped at lowes and grabbed these. i will swap them out later when i find the ones i bought originally. the chassis need to be dropped down from the clamping shells. thats the reason to need new screws. i grabbed some #10 washers and ground them smooth on one side. this way i can get the drop i want, then measure and cut a chunk of aluminum to fit. i started with 10 washers with each screw, down to 9. less than that i will need to trim more of the chassis to clear the sling ring. which i think i will do when i get the new screws.

since i used socket head screws, i needed to grind them down so the plastic shells will slide over freely.

with the NEA upper, the clamp sits in the same space as the rail. so as before, i trimmed the clamp to fit the rail.

the plastic shell need to be opened up to fit around the upper rail. mr dremel is your friend here.

now i just need to find a plum AK grip.

Thanks Powder Wagon

I have been wanting one of these hand guards for ages. I do already have the AK grip on tho, you will need to do some dremel work for that one too

I went a completely different route. I wanted the fore-arm as flush as possible and I wanted to retain all of the M-LOK slots so I could push the Para-clip as far back as possible.

It took some fitting but I'm very pleased with the results. I had to cut the heatsheild and the NEA rail. I got the fore-arm as seamless to the receiver as I could.

I love the look of them, and the features it brings to the rifle. But I'm not a fan of permanently modding the rifle. The rifles look great fellas.

It's funny how popular this has become. Zahal, CSA and Czech point USA sells vz.58 with this installed. I feel as I should be getting royalties.

You pioneerd the proper "go hard, or go home" install.

I tweaked it further. I noticed that material needed to be removed from the bottom of the heat shield because it contacts the gas block and barrel trunnion (If you want to keep is flush as possible). I also cut the NEA rail to fit the heat shield.
