Hello
Planning to order CMMG 22 kit for AR15. Looking for Black dog magazines available in Canada. Anyone knows where are they available? Also found 2A armament 22LR mags on irunguns. They look identical to BDM mags. And competiple with CMMG kit. Someone even said they have BDM logo on them. Anyone had any experience with those?

Thanks for any input

I have the 2a ones, mine don't have the the BDM logo on them they're marked 2a on them.

So far the seem fine no feeding issues or jams with them the base plates comes off easy enough too if you want to clean them.

I've only had them for a couple of months so I can't tell you how the nylon follower holds up over time. I don't have a problem loading them manually, they don't have a release on the side that you can manually lower the follower with your thumb that you see on other .22lr magazines.

They also lock my Chiappa bolt back on empty but once you drop the mag the bolt closes but that's an inherent design of the 22 conversions.

I also did pick up an AR22 catch from tandemkross which after the bolt slides forward I can manually lock the bolt back.

I do like that they're full capacity as well instead of being pinned, I'm running them on my Chiappa conversion.

Thanks for the info. Have you had any experience with BDM mags. Was wondering how they compare? I was thinking about catch 22 as well. But do you have to switch it back and force when convert back to 223?

I originally wanted to try BDM mags but the 2a ones were easier to find. I also read some conflicting information on the BDM's if they needed to be pinned or not before import so that made choosing the 2a ones that much easier.

The catch22 only works with 22 magazines. A centrefire magazine will not fit properly into the lower once installed so if i wanted to run it as a centrefire i'd need to replace the bolt catch. I got around it by building a dedicated .22lr lower.

I couldn't find any in Canada when I was looking so I got them through ## as they don't charge an import fee on top of canadian shipping

Questar sells them but it's still a 2-8 week wait as they don't actually stock them. Brownells also sells the BDM stuff and will ship to Canada.
