Mags for Norinco M4

Hey guys, going to be buying a Norinco M4 soon and had a couple questions on mags for it.

Are the LAR15 10 round mags the best ones to get? Or would i be better off with some Magpul 5 round mags? any advice on the best couple mags to get would be appreciated.

The best mags are the ones that work for your game (assuming the M4 is not just for looks in mirror.... :eek: ). LAR mags are great for the M4 especially in Service Rifle when we do have strings of 10 shots (CFSAC Match 2.x), great when you couple them together. I did this... much easier to grab out of the pouch.

I do know that some of the M4's running in our Service CQB matches use C Products, PMags, USGI Contract, and LAR 10 rounders. Also helps to see what runs in YOUR M4! :D

Network with some other AR shooters at your home gun club and see what they use, then try their mags in your M4 Norc mag well. :ar15:

I agree with Barney. In our climate of neutered mags it is far more important to find mags that work than worry about 5 cartridges vs 10. If we had access to full capacity mags it would be a question of which manufacturer puts out the ###ier mag.

What you're going to need to do is get your hands on a bunch of friends mags and run hundreds of rounds through your gun using as many mags as possible. Figure out which mags your gun does/doesn't like. Then buy the mags that it does like and then test all of those for function.

It's a fun process and you get too shoot a tonne!

How about getting to know other restricted ( :ar15: ) shooters at your home club? Participate in the General meetings? Volunteer? I'm certain you will meet some super folks in the community! :D

Move to an area where there are more like minded people.

If I win the 50 Mil on Friday I may be starting a gated community in Alberta which will have houses but be classed as a CFO approved range. You'll be able to wear your pistols while cutting the grass LMAO.

Since it's a restricted firearm that you want magazines for, you should be able to find someone at your club/range that has the Norc M4 and ask him/her what works in their rifle.

You might (I say MIGHT) have to try various brands of magazines to find out what will work in that Norc. You could buy one magazine of each brand to try out, then buy more of what worked best. Unfortunately, that would be an expensive way to do it.
 
I have a Norc M4 and am buying new mags for it as we speak, since the ones it ships with are ####E. The rest of the rifle is great though. Everyone, every AR shooter I have ever talked to ever, loves Magpul pmags. Those are the safest bet and look cool, but you know.... just 5 rounds.... thats weak. From what I can gather, the LAR-15 mag (10 rounds) work great and are of course, the only 10 round mag you can legally use.

Hands down, get those. The LAR-15 mag IMO.
