Mags from the US

Good to know. I'll be in the US in June/July. Maybe I can stock up on some mags on my way back. :)

Pretty sure you can't carry them out, they have to be shipped from a vendor in the US with an export license.

I pray that someone will tell me that I am wrong because I am headed to the US shortly.

You are correct. Firearm parts, including magazines, must be exported from the US only by licensed exporters. As a Canadian (I presume) you cannot even apply for the license.

You can arrange for a US exporter to ship them, or you can just find a US exporter that has their paperwork already in order, but you CANNOT bring them back your self or ship/mail them to yourself across the border.

Ah crap. Well that changes things. Guess I'm just bringing back tee-shirts. This sux!

It would help if you understood the question you asked.

You asked if it was ok to ORDER mags from the US. Someone replied indication that was indeed ok. Then you said great, "I am going to BUY some when I am in the US."

Last time I was in an English class, and admittedly that was many years ago, the words ORDER and BUY had distinctly different connotations.

Yes I am being a #### but I am grumpy and the general inability to understand the English language on this site is depressing. Not to mention this question gets asked about a million times a week. There are probably a dozen other threads dealing with it you could have read.

The OP and the guy you quoted are two different people...thus the confusion. The words are seen but the mind interprets...

Not as bad as "lose" and "loose".

Totally unrelated to import/export, but the one that I get a kick out of is how many people add 's to a word to make a plural. "I have three gun's."

These questions about US export are never ending.
Maybe the best response is "Do as you please, and let us know how it turns out."

Now that would be fun but I would feel just a little guilty. I enjoy reading the posts from guys saying how much ammo they are bringing back to Canada after checking the CBSA website. Never thinking or consider checking how the US side of the line feels about that. :owned:

FAIL. Figure out who you want to talk to and address the post to them.:jerkit:

The comprehension and attention skills by those who jump to conclusions without the who, what and why, is rather depressing. You'd think some people, who get irked by various responses and are all too ready to spew their vomitus, would have read the first message, note the name of the OP, before sticking their size 11's down their own throat. Pay better attention in your next ESL class. FAIL!
