So i go some new AR mags today and they all fed well! problem is two wont drop all the way free on their own. Is there anything i can do about this. I was thinking a little 120 grit sand paper of teflon dry lube?

Okay, before you take sandpaper to it, how stuck are they?

Will they shake out if you rattle the gun a bit? Or are they stuck in pretty good?

Is there resistance of the mag going in?

You might want to try some SOS pads and run them over the magazine body first, to try and get rid of any burrs.

If that fails, check out the inside of the magazine well, and see how rough that is... You might need to run an SOS pad inside if there is any rough stuff.

If the SOS pads dont take care of any rough patches, then I'd say move to something like WET 400 grit sandpaper, or 600. but start off slow and work your way up to rougher grits (then finish it smoother grits after you're done) so you dont take too much off.

mags won't drop free

I had a similar problem with my CZs. It seems the mags deform slightly after heat treatment. They bulge a little on the width and reduce the other way. Because they were steel, I was able to put them into a bench vise and squeeze them, little by little, until they reassumed a rectangular cross section. At this point, they ejected like they were launched.

Try this before you start sanding. When you're done, and they seem to go in and out perfectly, spray them with either silicone spray or MoS2.

Good luck.

CZ mags are supposed to eject upon pressing the release!? You learn something new every day!

Now I must fix this up...

mhm a little tug and they come out fine not fighting to pull them out.... my other three fall free no problem so i dont thing its the mag well...plus i dont think sos pads will work with the polymer frame of the AR180

Are these PMAGS or USGI metal mags? 30/5, 20/5 or LAR 10 rounders??? What make is your lower if its an AR?

Just recieved 5 C Products 5/30 lanced mags yesterday.

Crappy QC allowed mags to leave factory. Mags were manufactured with incorrectly set spot welder. I'm guessing the "steel" setting was used on the stainless steel mags.

The edge of the spot weld crater is higher than the base metal which results in the mag hanging up in the gun.

Judicial use of a file (thats how much material is protruding) will probably fix the problem.

Of the five mags -- 4 of them have this problem while the 5 will drop if "helped".

I would not order any more unless I had them test drop the mags before they shipped.

And that is if I didn't have any other option. Haven't tried them out at the range cause I'm trying to remove the ridges that the mags are trying to wear into my magwell.

How they were allowed to leave the factory in the first place confounds me.
Perhaps they were the rejects the American market wouldn't accept.
You can see the problem from three feet away and feel it when rubbing your finger along the spine of the mag.

Mag may feed fine but the overall fit and finish between mags various a fair amount. Can visually see the difference between each mag.

I would look elsewhere before spending money on this product.
I'm going to try and clean them up and see how they feed in the gun. Depending on the results I might just send them back.

Little expensive for paper weights.
