i've just changed the fixed rear sight on my cz sp-01 to an adjustable sight,
and replaced the plastic guide rod with stainless steel. i've got a factory main
hammer spring that i want to replace with a 13lb spring for smother DA. i can
get the spring pin out ok, but i can't get the magizine tension bar to release, so that i can remove the spring and it's holder. any suggestions would be appreciated.

thanks

To remove the mag break you just need to tap out the retaining pin at the top of the mag break where it connects to the frame.

Once the pin is out you can just pull it out of the retaining slot near the bottom of the frame. After that, just remove the pin on the mainspring plug.

thanks 1riot1ranger i'll give it a try, i was looking at the cz75 removal on the web but the
butt of the gun is designed a little different. thanks again.

Just make sure you don't lose any pieces and at the very least someone else can :)
Seriously though, a monkey with a blindfold could do this. There's only two pins, the mainspring plug the magazine well seperater thingy and the spring... don't lose control of the spring as you take it out, that's all.

That's good advice...

I had to spend 30 minutes trying to find the mainspring plug after I extracted my punch from the frame. <Sproing> [plug shoots across the room]
