Maintenance question

What's the most effective way to clean the vent rib between the bbls of an o/u......struggling against formation of light rust in those darned cramped spaces. What solvent/fluid etc would work best to flush that out? No experience with this scenario as I've always had shotguns with solid ribs.

Hoppes #9 solvent and a toothbrush is excellent for light rust in the rib....

Then apply some silicone based G96 Gun Treatment to prevent it in the future.
