Major 3 gun matches open in AB

Hmmm, It would be a bit of a drive for me but I am off work on August 8 / 9.

I am good for pistols and shotguns but what are the options for rifle? I have 22LR semi that I run in Mini Rifle but I also have a PCC chassis that accepts one of my 9mm pistols - would that work for rifle (would prefer to go this route as it is a hoot to shoot)?

And what is the deal with the "Team" part? Can you only shoot if you are partnered up with another person?

These matches will have targets out to about 150m, but you can shoot your pistol in a chassis in the mini-rifle / pcc division.

For the team match, if you don't have a partner that's ok, you'll get matched up with someone.

The team match at spfga a couple of years ago was a lot of fun.

You shoot and are scored as a team. Sometimes you're shooting concurrently, sometimes consecutively, sometimes alternating.

At the MP3G Team Match (where SPFGA got the idea) folks without a partner shoot with a random single shooter from their squad on each stage.

Both these matches are a lot of fun.
 
Damn, gotta get in on some of this now that I’m located in Alberta. Can’t make the June match but the SPFGA match in August is very interesting, not far at all from the new abode. What are folks using for rifles out to 150m? If it’s .22 I better start practicing lol.

150 with a .22 is an easier shot than with a 9mm PCC.

I’m sure that’s true. Shot lots of both .22 and 9mm PCC( when we could) in 2gun/ 3gun in the lower mainland but 99% of or COF’s were 50yards or under, very few shots even out to 100 let alone 150 but once you know your holdovers I guess it’s probably not easy but easier lol.

We occasionally go to 200m with the rimfire here, but it's a huge 20x20" plate.

It's the weekend before the Red October match. If you're going to make the trip you might as well stay for 2 weeks. I've never shot Red October. I suppose I could use my old Colt A2

I do have a second PCC. It's a Foxtrot Mike with a forward charging handle. Takes Glock mags. I've got 8 ETS 40rd mags, 8 Glock 30rd +10ext, a Magpul 50 drum and a Promag 50 drum. Round count approx 350, so you'll need 500. I don't have any spare mag pouches. If you work the match, we build stages on Wed/Thur, staff shoots Fri, RO the main match on Sat/Sun.
