MAJOR Glock Problems

And yet you entitled this thread "MAJOR Glock Problems" when you clearly know it has nothing to do with the hardware, cool guy.

Next time use your melon and don't waste people's time.
After reading my OP I thought the title was clearly tongue and cheek, but I apologize for wasting your time. Sometimes I forget that public interwebz forums are for strict business only. Carry on bud. :D

No "perfection" comment from this guy. I find it weird that you are unable to shoot your other pistols to the same level or close to that of your Glock. If you've spent a lot of time behind the polymer it will be a little different/foreign when you first go back to something else but there shouldn't be a nose dive in performance.

I was expecting a comment a little more jesting than that, but I appreciate you not taking my comment too seriously. I was trying to razz you a bit, I know your the Glock guru around here. Im starting to share some of your sentiment about these wonderful pistols.
I might also be exaggerating a bit on the nose dive in performance of my other pistols, but my previous best performing pistol(in my hands) was my Jericho, and after using the Glock it takes me 40 rounds or so to shoot properly again with my Jericho. Like you said, it makes it feel a little different/foreign.

Im gonna go to the range and practice now. Ill get this licked yet!!!

It's still "ugly" in my books, but it's so ugly/odd looking that I acutally find it quite attractive now.. Kinda like Kate Moss, bit of a strange looking complexion but if you stare at her long enough she becomes quite attractive. haha.

HAHA, how true that is....:p

I've dismissed Glocks for so long because I thought they were ugly and no more accurate than other polymer pistols.... until I shot one.

Love the simple design and ease of maintenance; wide range of available aftermarket parts and accessories; and while some may think it's "mushy" or "squishy", a trigger that breaks predictably and easy to manipulate. I can now see why there's such a huge following of Glocks because it is just so easy to shoot one!

Don't care who is Kate Moss but if you said Glock is ugly and I totally agree with you, I still don't understand why I bought two of them:D Kinda man always find trouble for themselves:p

I appreciate the attempts by some to razz me up. I tend to get out my soapbox quite regularly. I will say, that like Gushulak posted(below) if the Glock is shooting well for you, why bother with something else?;)

Why shoot anything else when you shoot a Glock so good?

What I've noticed in this thread and several others pertaining to Glocks, is that there seems to be a large trend of Glock haters who base their opinions solely on looks or word of mouth. With PROPPER training and some rounds down range a lot of that negativity evaporates back into the cloud of BS it came from. Glocks are not nice shiny all steel 1911's nor are they the old fashioned revolver from years ago. They're duty guns and they do it very well. The aesthetic appearance tends to be a concern to those who wish to plink with their firearms. Such users rarely are concerned with the performance based attributes of such a duty gun which is why many have a distaste for Glocks. Without looks, there's nothing for the plinker to admire.

Well heres a really crazy idea.......

Why don't you do a trigger job on the glock.... or have one done for you if you feel you are technically un-inclined...... (apex sear etc...)

Then your glock would shoot like all your other pistols............

:D

Or, a person could just learn to shoot as the Glock trigger is fine the way it is..

My first handgun (and gun) was a Glock 17, I shot it for years until I became somewhat proficient (every spring I have to shake off the rust). It was the best gun, however I caught 1911-itis and couldn't find room for the Glock anymore, so sold it.

*waits for gasps to subside*

I Love it, respect it, and give it credit for being my cherry popper gun that taught me how to shoot. I have NOTHING bad to say about it. And I liked the mushy trigger when all the haters was hatin'. In order to maintain the usual 'my gun is better than your gun' thing, I use the CZ now as the bad guy (sorry CZ guys)

I'm a recent Glock convert as well. I've never been too fond of them, but I just picked up a G35 and I'm loving it :)

Only downside is that I think it will take a month until the gun breaks my hands in. Although, it's a lot nicer now that I've filed down the edges on the extended mag release.

As for switching guns, I find I actually shoot my other pistols better now. The Glock is unforgiving of bad grip technique, so I've had to perfect mine to handle it. Means I'm handling the others better now too

Maybe if the Glock came first, there would be less of the rest?

The glock trigger, with it's distinct grip requirement for me anyways, destroys the S/A learned over many years for sure. I find I can't seem to depress the 1911 grip safety properly or wrap around a P-38 grip like before, after adjusting to a Glock 22.
Is this bad? Not if you shoot "glock only" for your Pistol enjoyment activities.
If you like to shoot many other SA's as your stated, I see your problem and don't think there is a cure.:(

As I stated at the beginning concerning what one becomes orientated with,...... another example would be the .40 S&W bashing from the 9mm/45 camps. Who needs it they scream?

I'd say, "if the .40 came first , how many copies of the other two would there be?"
