Gentlemen,
Ordnance and SA are setting up for that major production jump. Yes the time frame is very close to the landings by the USMC at a place called Guadalcanal. The USMC Landed there on Aug. 7, 1942.
I hope that you find this data of some interest.

Without input from you guys no one learns anything Try to put in some info/question and we can learn more of the M1's History.

I will not be posting to some more sites as there is no INTEREST

As always neat Clancy. :)

Its interesting though, 2,000 rifles per day, could arm the whole town I'm sitting in right now in alittle more then a day. Could arm it in less then a day with 3,000 rifles per day.

TheIndifferent1,

The US was at war for about 6 months as of this point steadily increasing production since proper production started, and the war in the Pacific was a priority so they needed more guns to arm both the US Army and the US Marines. :)

Yes, I was well aware of that, just wasn't sure if there was something specific that they needed a rush on guns for (offensive in the pacific, etc.) :D

Gentlemen,
Dimitri is correct. Remember this is just getting the ok to go to full production it cost us one thing and that was TIME.
Thanks again for your comebacks. I think this stuff is important.
