every big game I have shot from yotes to bullwinkle have been with my rem 760 .270.

Same here except for the last 4 years or so! 1954 vintage 760 in 270 to be exact. By far I've shot more moose than anything but deer and black bear as well.

Just remembered I shot a black bear with my 444 and my first moose with a 30-06 but mostly 270.

Now I use a 7mm rem mag.

My measly little under powdered 7-08 by far(it is now however been customized for target but still see's wildlife once in a while).

Funny, the animals never new it was under powered.

without a doubt, in the early years, a pre '64 94 30-30, then later a 243, when my son's were old enough one by one to start hunting, and as time went on, a short action cartridge in 257 Roberts, 7x57, 260, 7mm-08 and 308 all played a close roll and still do today. We have bigger stuff, but favor these by far, greatly.

By the way, Kelly ^ has shown the flashlight trail towards the 7mm-08 from shortly after the beginning of us trying it! Thank you very kindly, Kelly, it is one awesome hunting hammer.

K98 rebarrelled to 308 Win in a sporter stock. Took truckloads of whitetails with that gun, plus a few coyotes that ruined deer hunts. None of my other firearms comes close as far as numbers go.

I have been looking for a 99/44 Deerfield for a long long time, nothing ever pops up, well maybe the odd odd one, but it demands one's left nut left undrained as part payment and it's gone before I can fart! First deer - 20ga. Next 5 with a .303Br. Next with .30-06. Then one with an SKS. Now in AB. First one with .303. Then two with SKS. Next 6 .30-06. Then cow moose - '06. Next three deer, '06. Elk - '06. Two deer with x39mm from Rem799. Two deer '06, one cow moose - '06.

Guess most with '06.
