Majority of BIG game taken with..???

Eagleye...........been thinking and remembering (read...procrastinating packing) and I have to say my 700 Rem 375 H&H (THE TRUE KING!!!) is starting to accumulate a fair share of critters as well. Not like my 300 Wby but still well into double digits. Also my 350 RM Mod 7 KS, which I use exclusively for bears (well almost exclusively) is well into double digits too.
What can I say, I'm just a gun whore............give me any rifle that shoots well and I'll go kill SOMETHING with it.........even levers and single shots. Though I've never hunted with a semi auto CF rifle, had a BAR and a Garand but never hunted with either.

Number one game harvester to date has been a Win Model 94 in .32 Special, close on its heels is a Win Model 70 in .308... Far behind those are a couple dozen other calibers in various platforms... BUT, 90% of my big game has been take with archery gear.

Well, Douglas, I hear what you are saying about taking a rifle that shoots well and killing something with it. My policy in a nutshell right there!!

I do not have the offshore experience you have, but North America has been VERY good to me.

I actually have one on you in that I hunted one season with a semi-auto 30-06. [young, less educated at the time.]
But I believe it killed 6 animals, so I guess it worked OK.

Only reason the '06 sits so high on my "kill" list is because I used that chambering almost exclusively for Black Bear control in orchard country.
The bear kill runs well into 3 digits. :)
Little difficult to play catch up with other chamberings when they are used for regular hunting seasons/bag limits.

That 375 is a real "do it all" chambering, and if I had to use one rifle world wide, that would be it. [heaven perish the one rifle thing!!]

You said you are on the move...may I ask where to? Or is it just a local move?

Regards, Dave.

Dave, working on moving to my retirement property 35 miles north of Creston B.C. right on Kootenay Lake. I inherited 7 acres and bought the neighbor's 27 acres, immediately to the north, c/w house, machinery shed, barn, walk-in cooler and butcher shed with concrete floor. Built myself a 5000 sq ft shop/toy box with 5 - 14X14 roll up doors and an 18' ceiling, last year and worked a bunch this winter on a new vault/gun/loading room, so now its time to gather my chit and move at least my gun vault contents south, and then I'll start working on my shop/garage here to clean it out and move my car collection south, with all it's attendant junk and parts and hoists and spare engines.................Ya I'm havin' fun now !!!! This is going to completely screw my hunting season this year for sure........but somebody's got to do it and I'm afraid I'm it...............Oh ya, almost forgot my trophy room, another nightmare job, but I think I got that one figured.
