Make 6.5-284 brass

Im in the process of building a 6.5-284 and figured I should start looking around for reloading components.

I know there are a few makers of brass for this cartridge (Lapua, Nosler, etc.) but prices are pretty crazy.

I was thinking of just making up some brass using the standard Winchester 284 stuff.

Are guys just necking it straight down to 6.5 or is there a better way to make it?

You could use Winchester .284 brass, but with the slide in Winchester quality, why would you want to? You would be much further ahead using Lapua, or Norma brass
