Make a Choke?

I shot a 3 gun match last week, using my Hatsan semi-auto and mild target loads.

It knocked over steel plates just fine, but did almost nothing on the swinger. We were supposed to make the big swinger do a revolution. It barely twitched when I hit it.

Another fellow with the same ammo got it spinning in 2 shots. He said it was because he was using a modified choke. I was shocked that a choke would make that much difference.

My Hatsan has a cylinder bore. It has a muzzle device threaded on to an outside thread on the barrel.

The barrel looks too thin to thread for an inside choke. But maybe I could make a choke that threads on the outside? Anyone done this?

I have two pieces of barrel off shotguns that I cut back from 30" full choke to 20" cylinder bore. The barrel stub diameters are about the same as the OD of the threaded section of the Hatsan barrel, so I can't just thread the stubs to screw onto the Hatsan.

But it would easy to thread the stub and double thread a small adaptor to join the two.

Best solution would be for Hatsan to make these for us.

Maybe briley thin wall chokes would be a better option. You would have to insure that there was no gap and no lip inside where the barrel and extension meet
