make it yourself collapsable stock, idea??

Has anyone ever done one. I am looking for idea for my winter project. I have a 10/20 ruger. Actually i was thinking of a foldable stock for hiking.

be carefull with your do-it-youself mods. Collapsible stock cannot make gun overall lenght less than 66 cm if I am not mistaken. I did similar modification for hiking too - backpackable stock wich turned out very good but just leagal - 66.3cm. I did not know the limitation and falling withing leagal boundaries was rather accidental.

I would advice you to go ahead and design and build your own metal skeleton whatever folding "spetcnaz moddafokka" kinda stock - its half the fun. You wan't save over buying ready made stock though. But then again - sence of achievement is unbeatable if you build your own thingey. In my case rifle turned out so good its my own collectible item.

Yeah, i dont have a prolblem of buying one. I was thinking of buying one if I don't have time. But if you have a picture of yours may be I'll be persuated to build one.

Great winter-project!
Buy a Butler Creek side-folding stock and replace the shoulder piece with either

1. an AK under-folding shoulder piece,

or

2. a home-made telescoping shoulder piece (HK style).
