This is the first range report since I posted "Make mine a Stevens". Well as predicted, we had a blustery day at the range today. Here are some of the stats and results with the 260 AI.
Wind: Gusting to 50k, 30k avg. Cross range predominant with changes quartering to. Adjusted 2.5 to 3minutes wind all day.
Clear, cloudy conditions. Light good.
Holding targets was very difficult with 1/2" movement common due to wind buffeting the boards to add to the variables.
On my very first 500m adventure in F class the results are as follows: 43 2V, 45 2V, 47 4V, 45 3V. Each string is out of a possible 50 with Vs as the tie breaker.
My hats off to the very few who shot a couple cleans today, it sure goes to show you that reading the wind is everything in this game. Wind trumped all today.
Hope you enjoy the post. I have 250 rds down the pipe now, lets see how far it goes. I will say my McGowen barrel is performing well, now I just need to perform with it to make it sing. Thanks Jerry, the minute bull helped in dialing in the wind. Cheers.
