Making 10/22 25 rds mag legal again ?

I'm going to say no, since the clause they used was originally designed for. Even after modification the mags are still originally designed for the 10/22 and charger pistol (I do not agree with originally designed for charger pistol but that is what the RCMP says).

See this for reference http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cfp-pcaf/notice-avis-2016-07-27-eng.htm

How can a magazine be designed for a gun that will not exist for 43 years after the magazine was designed?

Why do your think they do not lay charges for the mags alone and it has not seen court? Because it is not legal.

This.

It is RCMP executive harassment.

I have a BC 25.round mag with 1992 moulded into the body so the RCMP Criminal Lab and their masters can go fu6k themselves.

Over 4000 Canadians die each year fro.m fentanyl overdoses so there are no shortage of real criminals for these dogfu6king RCMP Criminal Branch to go after rather than harass law abiding hunters and plinkers.

Don’t forget about the corrupt politicians they could be chasing!

You could argue they are no longer designed for use with 1022.

No you could not... if the OEM designed it for specified firearms that is what it is, regardless of what modifications you make to it. Pinning is not the same as modifying and using to full capacity

This conversation just never dies...

The word "originally" in this context does not mean "when first designed." It means, when "it left the factory." If the manufacture stipulates that it is designed for model "A" and model "B" then that is how the mag is classified... it does not matter what modifications Bubba makes to it in his garage.

Dlask got around the issue by a complete remake of the receiver AND the magazine, which as an OEM they can do... but if you followed the process, the R&D, the engineering and the manufacturing that went into the project was prodigious... it is unlikely that anyone in this thread possesses the wherewithal to accomplish such a feat, let alone possessing the OEM licensing required.

has anyone tried the adapter for the 597 mags?

I have one but it's not working as I would wish it to work. From time to time there is a failure to feed. Mine is the first iteration. It's a Carbon Fiber Composite. I've read that Spectre Ballistics somehow improved the next iteration but I don't quite believe it would be so great. They also try to do something in aluminum.
