making 22-284 brass?

No one is saying that the .22-284 won't work, if the OP already has dies and a barrel, he should give'er.

I think we're just saying that he shouldn't bother making 500 pieces of brass and if he loads warm, he's not going to have a long barrel life.
 
Win 785? When did you do all this work, the mid 90's? Wasn't Win 785 pulled from the market because of its reputation for hangfires? Had a burn rate just a bit slower than H4831 - not a great choice.

FYI that's the one I remember. It was a milsurp repackaged by Win.( I think) We also used some powder from 20 mm. as well as 50BMG.We did this in the late 70's, believe it or not we got along ok without the internet.
Now one doesn't have to trial and error like then, info is readily avail. and we are able to learn from the experience of others. OP sorry for the hijack, done here, Mark
